Your son made you proud

  • by

I don’t even know where to start to tell you all the help and support your son gave to me in “93” when I moved to Houston with nothing but a dream to know this great group of artist I had met through the Art Car world. I arrived in Houston just in time to help paint the finishing touches on his first bus that he made with Shelly, Our Lady Of What We Have In Common.” I had never left my hometown of St. Louis before and was literally scared to death as the job I was told I would have when I got there didn’t happen and there I was with a dog, a cat, a worthless boyfriend and a VW full of clothes and art supplies. Tom and Shelly took me into their home and helped me get situated. If it wasn’t for them I would have been homeless on the streets. They only knew me from staying at my apartment during a Mardi Gras celebration in St. Louis where they brought Ripper to be in the parade. They helped me and never made me feel like I was imposing. They involved me in all their creative wonderful situations and gave so much of themselves in everything they did. I count Tom as one of the very best humans that have walked on this Earth. His heart and sense of compassion where as big as the universe. He lived every day of his life to the fullest the whole time I was with him and I know he continued to do so after he left Houston. I loved the man Tom Kennedy and always will. How happy you must be that he was your son. Peace to you and yours. Love Janiece Senn
