I hope to be meeting you this weekend to express my deep condolences in person. Meanwhile, I’m working on uploading to YouTube some video of Tom with the Missile Dick Chicks over the years. The footage was shot for the documentary “Trail of Feathers: The Missile Dick Chicks Take on America” by Randi Cecchine. I am the editor and also a Chick. Here is the description: Out-takes and raw footage from the documentary “Trail of Feathers: The Missile Dick Chicks Take on America”. This is the first time Tom Kennedy met the Missile Dick Chicks, apart from Laurie Schoeman who brought him to NYC for the 2004 Republican National Convention from San Francisco. I presume he skipped Burning Man that year or at least missed most of it in favor of protesting the Republican regime. Tom played John Ashcroft the first day, and Dick Cheney on subsequent days. When they met, Haideen Anderson was playing her character Dolly Daily-Bombings in vintage form. She created all the masks seen in these clips. Tom is in the periphery or masked in most of the material. I was struck at the time by how eager he seemed to soak up and learn from what we were doing. Clashes with authority is a repeating theme from that week. Apologies for the lack of polish.
Higher quality versions can be made available if you want to use them for your project but for now everyone can view them on the web. I’ll be putting up more this week, there is a smattering of material from the last four years.
I hope this might provide some comfort, or maybe it’s just a way to keep my mind busy—needless to say all of us here in New York are devastated.
